Marry Jane - My wife and I visited Hawaii in 1986 and one of our highlights was diner at the Cannon Club. It is a shame it is gone.

I was stationed at Ft. Shafter, B Co., 652nd Engineer Bn., from April 1977 to July 1978. I spent many evenings at the NCO club. I think it had one of the best views of Honolulu you could find. When was it torn down?

The runways are closely spaced together, and the distance between the hold short lines are unnaturally short, so when ATC asks you to hold short after landing, you need to basically stay on 4L to avoid getting a violation. The State of Hawaii Aviation Division has failed to correct this issue thus far.

Used for large aircraft overflow parking sometimes, since 4L is rarely approached from the north/air carrier ramp.
